Application for Management Support Officer(MSO)

The Mauritius Renewable Energy Agency (MARENA) has been created to oversee and promote the development of Renewable Energy in Mauritius and operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities. The Agency intends to fill the following vacancy and invites candidates who have the necessary experience, expertise, interpersonal skills and drive to apply.

As an Equal Opportunity Employer, MARENA is inviting applications from qualified candidates who wish to be considered for appointment as Management Support Officer for two-year contract basis, renewable if necessary.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

    • Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, French and Mathematics, or equivalent passes at General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level”. Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained all the passes at one sitting. Candidates having obtained the passes at more than two sittings will not be considered.

    • A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or Passes in at least two subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education “Advanced Level”, the qualification having been obtained after the qualification above.

    • Candidates should possess good communication skills, have a positive attitude towards work, and be computer literate.

    • Preference will be given to candidates who have relevant office work experience.

Post: MANAGEMENT SUPPORT OFFICER (MSO)

Qualifications:

  • Possess the Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, French and Mathematics or an equivalent qualification;

  • Possess the Cambridge Higher School Certificate or passes in at least two subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education “Advanced Level” or an equivalent qualification; and

  • be computer literate.


Experience:

  • Preference to be given to candidates who have work experience.


Main Duties: The candidate will be responsible, amongst others, for

  • the typing and collating general office correspondence and documents according to competencies;

  • maintaining files, forms, reports and other materials;

  • receiving, sorting and processing mail and to prepare materials for mailing;

  • assisting in administrative duties and to provide general support to operational services;

  • To carry out registry, simple finance, human resource and procurement and supply duties under supervision.
