MARENA SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

FOR TRAINING OF RENEWABLE ENERGY PROFESSIONALS 2021


The Mauritius Renewable Energy Agency (MARENA), has the pleasure to announce a Scholarship Scheme for Training of Renewable Energy Professionals supported by the British High Commission (BHC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Scheme aims to develop the green jobs framework in Mauritius and hence, provide a local workforce for the implementation of the upcoming RE projects contributing to the achievement of the 60% RE target by 2030, as recently announced in the Budget Speech 2021/22.

The MARENA scholarships are aimed at unemployed engineering graduates, technicians and engineers and will be awarded to 10 selected candidates for covering the cost of two courses, namely: Short course on Photovoltaic Energy Systems from University of Mauritius, and Installation & Maintenance of Small-Scale PV Systems from Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD). These courses will provide both theoretical and practical experience to generate RE professionals in the market.
